International study
Visa and immigration requirements
Most international students will need a Student Route visa to study in the UK. You must hold a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from Ludlow before applying. You’ll also need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge to access NHS healthcare. Make sure to prepare your documents and submit your application well in advance of your start date.
Accepting your offer
Once you receive your conditional or unconditional offer, you’ll be asked to submit your supporting documents — such as academic transcripts, passport details and English language qualifications. After verification, Ludlow University will issue your CAS, which you’ll need to apply for your visa. It’s important to check all deadlines carefully and ensure your paperwork is accurate and complete.
Arrival and orientation
We host a dedicated International Welcome Week designed to help you settle into life at Ludlow. You’ll take part in campus tours, meet fellow students at social events, and attend sessions covering essential information like course enrolment, student ID collection, and accessing university services. You’ll also receive practical guidance on living and studying in the UK.
Support throughout your studies
Our International Student Support team is here to help with everything from visa and immigration advice to academic adjustment and wellbeing. They work closely with other university services — including counselling, careers, and disability support — to make sure you have the resources you need to thrive throughout your studies.
Working while you study
Many international students choose to work part-time during their studies to gain experience and support their finances. You may be permitted to work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during holidays. Our Careers and Employability team can help you find suitable roles, and advise on understanding your visa conditions to ensure you stay compliant with UK regulations.
Life after graduation
Your journey with Ludlow doesn’t end at graduation. The UK’s Graduate Route visa allows eligible international graduates to remain in the UK for up to two years (or three years for doctoral students) to work or look for work. Our dedicated Careers team provides guidance on job searching, applications, and networking to help you take the next steps in your career.
