Ludlow University hosts annual Artificial Intelligence Futures Conference

Ludlow University welcomed academics, students and industry experts to campus this week for its annual Artificial Intelligence Futures Conference. The event brought together researchers and professionals to discuss how AI is transforming industries, society and education.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr Yuri Kim, Head of Computing at Ludlow, who explored the growing importance of ethical and responsible AI development. “As we build smarter systems, we must also build stronger values,” he said. “This is where research and teaching come together — shaping the next generation of developers to lead responsibly.”

Sessions covered topics such as machine learning in healthcare, AI for sustainability, and the use of data-driven systems in creative industries. Student researchers from the Artificial Intelligence programme also presented their final-year projects, showcasing applications ranging from AI-assisted art generation to predictive models for climate resilience.

The conference concluded with a panel discussion on “AI for the Public Good”, featuring guest speakers from technology companies, local government and non-profit organisations.

The AI Futures Conference will return in October 2026, continuing Ludlow’s commitment to exploring the future of intelligent technology and its impact on the world.
